Safety

Construction projects, by their nature, involve a potential risk for personal injury, damage to equipment, property, or possible damage to natural resources.

Recognizing that most accidents and injuries are preventable, Mount Construction Company, Inc., is committed to promoting safety awareness throughout our organization. Our Safety Education program includes in House OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid training certifications for our Superintendents, Foreman and selected Union workers of various trades. To ensure our non-union workers are safety trained, the company has mandated that our Mount Materials and Bull Waste Drivers, along with our Mechanics receive OSHA 10 Construction Training.

We continue our safety program by facilitating or sponsoring supplemental safety training in Trenching, Excavation, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Competent Persons Training and MSHA Compliance.

Our Safety Director maintains and enforces our safety protocol and works directly with loss prevention experts employed by our insurance carriers, to evaluate our program through job site visits and audits of our records. In addition, a Job Safety Analysis is completed on every job and aids in the ongoing planning of the project. "Toolbox Talks" are conducted at the job sites as well, to ensure that our crews understand any special precautions required to complete their tasks safely.

The Job Safety Analysis worksheets are completed daily and submitted to the Safety Director for review and remediation if necessary. Additionally, the Safety Director, supervisors and superintendents conduct periodic Job Site Audits to ensure compliance.
