Mount Construction CEO Dave Smith donates a significant amount of time, money and resources to Medford, NJ MYAA football program and local youth athletics.  The following is a letter to the editor of the local New Jersey papers written by Medford, NJ MYAA football coach Vince Ceroli:

In recent weeks I have read what seems to be a personal attack on Dave Smith, the CEO of Mount Construction and his relationship with Medford Township.  The articles are obviously politically motivated and portray Dave as a less than ethical businessman concerning his dealings with the township representatives.

I will not address any further what I think the motivation for the articles are and the comments made toward Dave and his family.  However, I will address what I know about Dave and his family and tell you I’ve known Dave for a number of years through the MYAA Football program.  Over the years Dave has donated his time, money and resources to better the experience of the children involved in the program and improve the facilities at the Hartford Crossing Complex.  He has coached the 85lb team for the past five years while his wife and daughter donate their time in the concession stand.

When there were limited or no funds available for projects Dave and his company paved the parking area around the football building, donated the sod for the all purpose field, donated the brick pavers in front of the football building and repaired the work of another contractor to improve the water drainage on the football field and round the building.  He has also donated a significant amount of money to the Shawnee HS turf field plus provides the light towers for the Shawnee Football home games.  He also restored one of the beaches in Lake Pine at no cost to the community.

I’m sure I have not mentioned everything the Smith’s are involved with that contributes a positive impact in the community, however the recent articles seemed to have missed them ALL.
